November was a great month for Arts District fundraising. Thank-yous are in order:

Thanks to distillery partner 45th Parallel for their donation of the spirits for the Basement Speakeasy held the weekend of November 4, 5 and 6. Visit 45th Parallel in Stillwater, MN or New Richmond, WI. Their roots were in Northeast, as their founder lived here until just recently.

The Basement Speakeasy at the Casket Arts building netted about $3,500 to Northeast Minneapolis Arts District. Thanks to our volunteers, and the artists and building management of Casket Arts for hosting. Thanks for bartending and other considerations from Red Stag Supperclub and 45th Parallel, and Central Avenue Liquors for donating beer.

Arts District board members and other volunteers enjoyed watching the slide show of images from the first Airport exhibit while they sold tickets and talked with visitors. We will be involved again during Art-A-Whirl®, manning the Basement Speakeasy (again with professional bartenders, of course).

Thanks to these ticket selling and errand-running volunteers: Leslie Palmer-Ross, Sue Sjoselius, Sarah Bogenrief, Josh Blanc, Meg Bishop, Tim Gaetz, Michelle Woster, Emma Quale, Mary Lyon, Paul Ostrow, Kristine Martin, Marla Khan Schwartz, Tom Dunnwald, Sonja Peterson, Margo Ashmore and thanks to Jennifer Young for training on Square.

45th Parallel Distillery – visit them in Stillwater, MN or New Richmond WI.

Give to the Max brought in $3,000+ in addition to the match. Owners of eight buildings in the Arts District came together to offer a match which was exceeded by donors on Give to the Max “day”: Thanks to California Building, Casket Arts, Highlight Center, Holland, Flux Arts Building, The Food Building, Q.Arma Buildings, and Solar Arts. Individual contributions from 29 donors totaled $3,075, and the match was $2,500.

Proceeds from these fundraisers pay for the Arts District website, social media and graphics vendors, venue and project expenses and incidentals for this otherwise all-volunteer organization which works to preserve and strengthen the District’s buildings, geographic and social fabric.
