Two local artists from the Four Story Collective will be at the Walker’s Wurtele Upper Garden, Thursday, July 7, from 5 to 8 p.m., free.
Join public artist Witt Siasoco in a raucous night of art-making, music, and conversation about issues of land in the Twin Cities. Make a simple kite from a recycled broadsheet and watch it take flight over the Walker green space. Take in the tunes and dance to the sounds of DJ Chamun. Strike up a conversation inspired by a series of talks about land issues on hand-painted picnic blankets created by Siasoco. Lend a hand in creating a large-scale stencil portrait by muralist Reggie LeFlore. More

Reggie LeFlore is a visual artist who creates art to praise individual and collective stories through human portraiture. His subject matter centers around “everyday people.” LeFlore crafts portraits with vibrant colors and contemporary elements, with respect to the human aesthetic to capture the energy and spirit of his subjects’ stories.
Witt Siasoco (he/him) is a community-based visual artist whose work falls at the intersection of art and civic engagement. Siasoco has created many community-engaged projects, including This Home is Not for Sale, a collaboration with Poetry for People and recipient of an Americans for the Arts’ Public Art Award; Drawing on Rice Street, a large-scale painting installation distilling more than 200 conversations with Frogtown residents; and Carry On Homes Northeast, an installation focused on immigrant participation in the 2020 Census. Recently, Siasoco was awarded a Jerome Hill Visual Arts Fellowship for 2021–2022.
