If tradition holds, about a week before the June 12 deadline, the USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice Travel Awards people will hide the leaderboard so we won’t be able to tell if we’re holding our lead or if Cleveland Ohio or one of the other arts districts in the running are overtaking us. So why do we good-naturedly keep pecking away at the votes once a day? Because nationwide recognition helps us with the local agenda of improving our service to all artists in the district and the region. The more rising stars choose to shine in this area, the more stars are attracted to interact here, and that enriches everyone’s creative lives. After our 2015 win and after the 2022 win, we saw an increase in inquiries as to how our district works. We frequently hear of people settling down here coming from other states.
