This painting creates a space for giving in to the trials and difficulties of everyday life, and allowing for one to repudiate crushing pressure and responsibility. Everybody wants to let go a little bit. Light and airy, the stylized figure slackens and drifts upward towards a red sun and sky full of birds, symbolizing newfound possibility and rejuvenation. The painting was created in oil paint with a process-based approach involving little inhibition and purposeful impulsivity which lends to the dreamy, carefree atmosphere.
