‘Orbs’ is a series of paintings that are a meditation on duality, on the life and death cycle, and on the sneaky dichotomy of good and bad. Through the movement of the planets, we see the contrast of our capacity for free will as a response to and always contained within the vast limitations of our control.

Dimensions 22″ x 28″ x 1.5″
Medium: acrylic on linen

The ‘Wildfire Suppression’ series reflects on the California Wildfires of 2020 as an ecological disaster and a metaphor for gaps in – or perhaps willfully forgotten or suppressed – cultural knowledge. Blind spots, shaped by the capitalist patriarchy, influence how we relate to one another and how we treat the planet. The recent years have highlighted the spread of misinformation – as well as uncovered for a wider set of the population knowledge that fueled the uprising against white supremacy, state-sanctioned violence, and systemic racism. Part of this painting is removed, symbolizing gaps in knowledge or traditional wisdom forgotten or repressed.
