The Airport Foundation MSP and Arts@MSP hosted a lovely event for artists whose work is in the “Chroma: A Spectrum of Beauty” exhibit along Concourse C at the Minneapolis & Saint Paul International Airport Terminal 1.

Exhibit/Process Coordinator Michael Curran and guest, with Sheila Dickinson, one of the curators of the “Chroma” exhibit.

On Tuesday, August 9, nearly 100 people including Northeast’s two council members were in attendance as Brian Ryks, Executive Director and CEO of the Metropolitan Airport Commission and Ben Owen, Director of Arts@MSP, lauded the artists’ work and congratulated us all for the designation as the Best Arts District in the country.

California Building owner Jennifer Young, speaking for the Northeast Minneapolis Arts District, reminded everyone that Northeast is even represented in the airport’s award-winning art bathrooms. All the speakers illuminated the airport’s commitment to art as key to enriching the public’s experience and promoting a sense of place through arts and culture.

Talking with artist Daniel Hansen, whose piece “Barrettes” is not pictured.
