The 2024 USA Today poll results for the Best Arts District are in, and Northeast Minneapolis Arts District ranked #3. Although we couldn’t maintain our title as #1 for three consecutive years, we’d like to extend heartfelt gratitude to all who supported us throughout the voting process. It is our firm belief that being one of the nation’s premier arts districts stems from the unwavering support of the talented artists who create here and the community that supports them.

Amidst the daily reminders on social media and the concerted efforts of neighborhood businesses, organizations, and individual artists urging their followers to vote, we put up a good fight. Special appreciation goes to our most vocal artist and community supporters during this contest, including but not limited to: the Sheridan, Bottineau, and Holland neighborhood associations, Eastside Food Co-op, Council Member Elliott Payne’s office, the Minneapolis Department of Arts and Cultural Affairs, Art to Change the World, NEMAA, the Best of Northeast Instagram account, Mill City Times, Kristen Montag of Meet Minneapolis and all of the studio buildings within the district.

Congratulations to this year’s winners Dallas, TX and Knoxville, TN for securing the first and second positions respectively. While we are now dubbed “The Arts District Formerly Known as the Best,” we remain confident that if nominated again, our community will rally behind us to reclaim the title we’ve proudly won three times (2015, 2022, & 2023), with a second-place finish in 2021 and now third in 2024.
