November brings a month full of celebrations and creative discoveries in the Northeast Minneapolis Arts District. On November 5th Celebrate Clay Squared to Infinity’s 30th anniversary, catch the ROLL CALL reunion exhibition at Solar Arts, and explore Reunion at Dreamsong Gallery. November 13–15th, explore the District-wide Fall Open Studios weekend featuring California Dreamin’, Open Casket, Art Attack, Art This Way. Wrap up the month at Flux Frost Fest on November 21st.

This disconnect and lack of acknowledgment of what already exists culturally in NE Minneapolis will taint MnDOT’s planned work. Good planning typically asks, beyond safety and function when entering a community, how we can enhance the community, disrupting it as little as possible.

The Speakeasy opens again the weekend of November 13 through 15 during Fall Open Studios. Located in the basement of the Casket Arts Building.

Is MNDot taking the Art Walk seriously?

Rifle Sport carved out its own path in Minneapolis’s art history, creating an alternative space where artists, musicians, and experimentation came together.

The Walker Art Center has acquired five paintings by Northeast Minneapolis artist Leslie Barlow, bringing her explorations of community, identity, and resilience into its permanent collection.

The Arts Action Plan Update survey drew 222 responses, with results now being analyzed for a report expected in the November newsletter.

A new Arts District website and newsletter are coming soon, with updated designs and tools to make our stories and archives easier to explore.

October is packed with exciting exhibitions, artist events, open studios, and opportunities across the Northeast Minneapolis Arts District.
