Arts District News

March 15, 2020 - Special Issue - COVID - 19

Dear reader,

On behalf of the Northeast Minneapolis Arts District our hearts and thoughts go out to everyone who has been affected by this unprecedented event. We honor and appreciate the healthcare workers, the local communities, and governments around the world who are working to contain this coronavirus.

Northeast Minneapolis Arts District’s response to COVID-19 is to follow requests from Minnesota's Governor, Minnesota Department of Health and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, until they instruct the public otherwise.

We will cancel or postpone our organization’s events where 250 or more people would gather, and smaller events where social distancing is not practical (being 6 feet apart for conversations of 10 minutes or longer). We encourage artists and venues in the district to do the same. This includes the March 26th community meeting at Northeast Library. ART365 dates will be rescheduled as we receive cancellation notices. Visit NortheastMinneapolisArtsDistrict.Org for event updates.

We encourage thinking creatively about keeping artists, businesses, residents/audiences of the district engaged, connected and entertained through virtual/online/social media content.

Art today. Art tomorrow. Art is where we belong.
The Northeast Minneapolis Arts District (NE-AD) is an officially designated Arts District by the City of Minneapolis. NE-AD’s Board of Directors was established in 2014. Fiscal sponsor: Northeast Community Development Corporation, 501(c)(3).
