Arts District News

May 1, 2023 - Issue 140

Dear reader,
May is always a big art month for Northeast Minneapolis Arts District. For many artists ART-A-WHIRL® produced by NEMAA is one of the biggest events they participate in all year. It is like Thanksgiving when you are hosting and everyone is coming to your house for the feast. Cleaning up, getting the good china out and making sure everything is in good order. Then the event happens and it is a free for all, everyone is talking and debating and at the end of the weekend we are all exhausted. We sleep for a day and get up and try to figure out what transpired. Your friends, family and the rest of the neighborhood loved your studio and the experience. Things don't always go to plan but you know you put your best foot forward and showcased your art, made some money and hopefully had some great conversations that will lead to long lasting relationships. We look forward to seeing all the open studios and seeing what the #1 Best Arts District arts community is thinking about through their artworks.
