Arts District News

December 1, 2022 - Issue 135

Dear reader,
This year, Northeast Minneapolis Arts District residents, artists and supporters came together as a community to vote for the USA Today’s Best Arts District. Northeast is #1 for the second time in 7 years.

Coinciding with that announcement, the “Chroma: A Spectrum of Beauty” exhibit launched at the MSP International Airport. From June 8 to November 27, according to metrics provided by the airport, 576,861 people had seen it, 116,170 of whom spent more than five minutes in the gallery.

No entry fees were charged to the artists and no commissions are taken for work sold. Sponsors (Artspace, American Craft Council and Harlan Boss Foundation for the Arts) covered the Arts District’s more than $7,000 expenses for a coordinator, curators, etc.
Many great outcomes have been achieved from this project and have led to more opportunities for the artists of the Art District and beyond. The Arts District board recognizes that showcasing so many quality artists to travelers to and from the Twin Cities is a huge boost for the entire city’s arts community.

Your continued volunteering and financial support have been crucial to making this happen. As we finish up 2022, we ask those of you who have the ability, to continue to donate to the Arts District in any amount. $10, $25, $50 can be mailed to 2505 Howard St. NE, Minneapolis, MN 55418 or
We appreciate everyone’s efforts to support this thriving arts community.

Thank you,
Josh Blanc, Board Chair
