As summer draws to a close, mural activity is accelerating. Philipo Dyauli’s work can be seen on the north side of Momo Sushi’s building at 1839 Central Ave. NE. Next door, at The Mill Northeast, 1851 Central, another mural is underway, the work of Gustavo Lira.

The very beginnings of a mural to be executed on the north side of The Mill Northeast.

They are the third and fourth murals to go up so far as part of the Mural Central project by Minneapolis Chamber, NEMAA (Northeast Minneapolis Arts Association), and Public Functionary. Work at 2300 Central Ave. NE, outside of Pilllar Forum Café, is by Wundr and Biafra (featured previously).

Four of the nine artists involved in the mural on the north side of the Eastside Food Co-op mingled with the public at a celebration of their efforts Monday, Aug. 22. In the top image, they posed with First Ward Council Member Elliott Payne. In the lead photo are from left, Reggie LeFlore, Witt Siasoco, Payne, Hibaaq Ibrahim and Leslie Barlow.
