The crowd at candidate forum

To assist voters in learning about the multitude of candidates running for the Minnesota House of Representatives 60A seat, five Northeast Minneapolis neighborhoods and the Northeast Minneapolis Arts District held a forum on Monday, January 13 at Solar Arts Building.
The lively format gave insights into candidates’ creativity and approach as well as their understanding of specific issues.

An estimated 225 people attended the forum, and 4,686 voted in the January 21 primary, and  in the February 4 general election, which resulted in securing the seat vacated by the death of Rep. Diane Loeffler. MCN6’s tape of the January 13 forum had been viewed by 828 people as of this writing.

The process of working with Logan Park Neighborhood Association, Sheridan Neighborhood Organization, Northeast Park and St. Anthony East Neighborhood Associations and Beltrami Neighborhood Council, opened the potential for more joint activities. Candidates showed an interest in the arts that we hope will be sustained in their future community and political activities. Thanks to all.
