Solar Arts Building was chosen the Arts Ambassador recognized by Northeast Minneapolis Chamber at the Celebrate Northeast Parade Tuesday, June 20.
Building manager Mike Schardin serves on the Northeast Minneapolis Arts District’s board of directors, and owner Duane Arens contributes in many ways to the Northeast scene.
Solar Arts Building is a modern, environmentally friendly hub for Minneapolis’ creative community, preserving an old building while powering it with solar panels on the roof. The mural by Roco Drilo facing the building’s parking lot reflects the joy and flavors of artist communities within. Seasonal food drives and searchlights promote artists on the second floor and major tenants Indeed Brewing and Mintahoe’s event space keep the space hopping. Congratulations to owners and management on more than a decade of creating artistic community.
