Medium: Mixed media with shattered glass, stone and bird nest on carved wood
My goal with this painting is to convey the look and feel of a place, without painting an actual landscape or image of a specific location. I salvaged objects from the shores of Lake Superior and the banks of the Mississippi, from woods and fields, in my yard and along nature paths, and incorporated those objects into the work. I added the glint and sparkle of shattered glass and the rich texture of carved wood tot the colors that would capture the essence of a day and the feel of the natural beauty of the world that surrounds us.
