The call for art for the next Minnesota Zoo exhibit at the base of the Treetop Trail is open now, with birds as the theme. There’s just two more months to see work by Northeast Minneapolis Arts District artists in Rooted in Nature: An exhibition of artwork inspired by trees at the Minnesota Zoo!

A number of artists from the Arts District were among the 38 artists from all over Minnesota chosen for the inaugural show at the new Hanifl Nature Center at the Minnesota Zoo. It is a new opportunity for artists with this state organization. Northeast artists include: Richard Bonk, Eric Cornett, Emily Donovan, Anna Palmquist, Claudia Poser, and Mary Welke.

The work is for sale and will be on display through December 2023. A new exhibit will be mounted in spring of 2024 through Labor Day, with birds as the theme: https://mnartists.walkerart.org/opportunity/hanifl-nature-center-exhibit-call-for-art-birds. The submission instructions suggest many different ways to relate subject matter through birds.
