The Northeast Minneapolis Arts District partnered with Arts@MSP last year to mount the exhibit
“Chroma: A Spectrum of Beauty” in the C Concourse Art Gallery at Terminal 1 at the Minneapolis-St.
Paul International Airport, and 59 artists from Northeast Minneapolis provided 82 works for the show.
The Arts@MSP staff surveyed the participating artists after the exhibit and 29 responded.

5 Airport banner imagesSome illuminating information was gleaned from the responses received:

  • Six artworks sold. One commission was generated with the possibility of a few others.
  • Other measures of success recognized by many included increased social media following,
website visits and increased receipt of messages of inquiry/general interest.
  • There was great enthusiasm for the huge and international audience able to view the show, and
comments about all those who took selfies/photos and shared them.
  • The artists appreciated the opportunity to connect with the Northeast Minneapolis arts
    community through the exhibit reception.
  • Many respondents complimented the process, organization, support, and staff.

The airport tracks visitor movement throughout the facility. A compelling statistic — between June 8
and November 17, 2022, a total of 113,655 guests spent more than 5 minutes in the C Concourse Art
Gallery. 18,307 individuals spent over 30 minutes with the exhibit.

The District looks forward to continuing and deepening its relationship with the impressive Arts@MSP
program.
