Northeast Calendar Project – A Year of Art in Your Hands
Each year, the Northeast Minneapolis Arts District brings local creativity to the public with our beloved Northeast Calendar—a vibrant celebration of the artists who make our neighborhood extraordinary.
In late summer, we launch a Call for Art, inviting artists from across Northeast to submit their work. Thirteen exceptional pieces are selected through a juried competition and featured on the top half of each month’s calendar page. Winning artists receive both recognition and compensation for their contributions, along with full credit for their work.
Come December, thousands of these calendars are printed and distributed free of charge throughout the community, placing original Northeast art in homes, studios, and businesses all year long.
This annual tradition is made possible by generous support from Northeast businesses, whose ad sponsorships keep the project thriving—and the calendars free for everyone.
The Northeast Calendar is more than just dates on a page. It’s a tangible expression of our creative spirit, and a daily reminder that art lives here.
